Library filming

Hello, vlog! So, on October 18, 2023, we finally started filming our music video. The storyboard had already been created, so most of our scenes will have a similar theme. Before the day even began, I was messaged by my  partner, Paneet Kandolas, to dress more casually and comfortably, considering I would be in the scenes we were supposed to film that day. We had also previously discussed the location and ended up switching it due to accessibility issues.

The library scene

When we finally arrived at the library, it was the Broward Main Library in Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale. We decided to plan and immerse ourselves in the scenery before filming, but we also didn't want to waste any time, so we began filming right away. Filming started around 3pm and ended around 4pm. During this time, we captured many shots of us in the library, not necessarily for immediate use, but just in case for timing or visual reference. I was chosen specifically for the main character scene based on our comfort level and my ability to shoot solo in the first few clips.

As the actual camera started rolling, more ideas popped into my head. I talked a lot, giving my opinions on different angles and how they would benefit the music video, although it did affect some of the shots. My partner, Paneet, specifically added in the beginning clip for a diegetic sound. I wholeheartedly agreed because of the calming background noise in the library—neither too loud nor completely quiet. However, in the end, both of us had to film solo scenes because there were only two of us. This posed an issue that I've officially noticed, as capturing scenes together will be more challenging than expected. We've tried recruiting friends to film with us, but we have yet to find the right person.
