Movie Conventions research (Oppenheimer)
Genre Research: Oppenheimer
• What elements (Conventions) of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?
Subjectivity and Morality: The movie poses morality and subjectivity-related queries, asking viewers to think about the viewpoints of the offenders and the moral ramifications of their deeds. I want you to feel caged and feel the subjective emotions of the actors along with their consequences and thoughts.
• What elements (Conventions) of the genre did the movie have that you like?
Cinematic genres: The documentary combines a multitude of cinematic genres, such as musical numbers and Hollywood gangster flicks, to create a weird and confusing experience. The goal of this style decision is to provoke in the audience a more profound emotional and thought reaction. The authenticity of it even though I don’t think I’ll be able to use it myself.
• What elements (Conventions) of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you?
Personal Narratives: The movie delves into the personal accounts of the perpetrators of the mass murders in Indonesia, offering a glimpse into their motivations, feelings, and ideas. Necessarily care for this approach because I won’t be personally using it in my intro to my film.
